Have you tried to feel the pulse of the world since COVID-19 broke out?
There’s unnerving sense of despair in the air. People could tell all is not alright but can’t seem to place a finger on what it could be. Conspiracy theories are flying out. To some its simply a freak accident of sort.
Governments around the world had to rejig their policy portfolios and spending plans as lockdown hit out at economies of so many nations, including the elite economies of Europe and America.
A new global dynamic is born.
Travelling protocols changed. Global supply chains have been altered and thriving business concerns hurtled to a stop as poverty have been climbing high in some of the developing nations of the world.
Without much ado, it’s becoming a bit clearer that a new vista is unfolding in our world even as a prophetic script has opened.
The world is winding down.
The dramatic changes brought upon by the COVID-19 inspires some level of curiosities among non-faith people. They know something is in the offing. They wonder what that could be!
Personally, this era has changed me in many aspects. I have become more introspective. I have tried in my quiet corner to step up my understanding of the happenings around the world and how they connect with God’s word. This I believe would help shape my response and attitude and build within me a consciousness that would strengthen my ability to stand up to the spiritual, social, and economic climate that might be precipitated by this unfolding new world order. I hope same for all.
And it must be a time for the ‘strong breed’ to thrive- those who draw nourishment and strength from God.
‘But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. We all long to do great exploits…Daniel 11:32.
The implication of Daniels prophetic glimpse into the future which I believe speaks of our times is one that expects God’s people to be strong.
There’s a gathering storm of economic and social tough times which only requires the strong to thrive.
That would require some preparation mentally and spiritually just as prepared as the 5 wise virgins who had oil in their lamps, supposing that the groom was almost within reach. Matthew 25: 2.
Even the bible called such times we are in as perilous times…2 Timothy 3: 1. Another word for perilous could be risky, unsafe. a foreboding of unsavoury events…a prophetic alarm bell to wake us up to the stark realities of our times.
Distraction could happen even to the most watchful and calculated person. And that was the keynote message of Elijah to Elisha…’if only you will see me’…
Elisha was as strong as he was alert. Strong in tenacity and mindfulness. He couldn’t let up as he scaled the hurdles of Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho, and Jordan…difficult roadblocks to his ultimate quest.
2kings 2:1-end.
And his eyes could see the ascent of Elijah as the whirlwind from Heaven snatched him off…
Elisha did not let the distractions of the sons of the prophets and physical barricades blur his sights and watch fulness…
May the lord help us through these season…unwavering in catching the glimpse of Heavenly things like Elisha…
Blessings!
