What to do when you have been rejected-7 redemptive steps.
People feel rejected for different reasons.
For joseph it was a case of envy and hatred, because he was the father’ bestie. For Leah she was childless. For Jephthah because his kinsmen loathed his background, for the fact he was born by a prostitute.
For you the reasons might be different but the goal is the same, to make you feel small and worthless. Sometimes people don’t act on self-volition, they are animated by Satan, who can only work through human agents to hurt God’ people, and such people are everywhere even in the church.
If you are in a circle, a family or a workplace and you feel hedged in and seem like a small voice small in an intimidating crowd. You feel alone, spited and rejected here’s few redemptive tips.
- Step up your inner strength-Feelings of rejection tolls on your emotional, mental and spiritual power and more often makes you vulnerable…you need to fill yourself up with powerful energy blocks that comes from God’ word and His spirit. Ephesians 6:10…keep up with your devotional habits daily and God’s word will always reassure and empower you to operate beyond the low levels of your detractors….don’t waste your time responding back to them…keep focused. Never try to rationalize the reasons for the rejection, it could further whittle down your mental and spiritual strength…ignore as much as you can.
- Operate at a higher mental frequency…When people put you down they don’t just leave it at that, they step aside and watch how you may react. A negative reaction will give them lever of control over your emotions, mood and mental responses. Ignore their innuendoes and maintain a healthy mental outlook through Gods word. Romans 12:1-2. Don’t have the grasshopper mentality…Numbers 13:33
- The joy coming from within you is attractive and it will draw to you people of the same spiritual state…God bring people our way who He know can complement you…Nehemiah 7:10. Joy has power.
- Keep focused…people who are busy with a cause or calling are too busy and absorbed they hardly take notice of side-distractions. Attending faithfully to your callings or visions will always fill you with sufficient mental and spiritual strength not to whimper or slack from low inner power…Philippians 3:14
- Repent of any wrong doing if you have any….God will not justify any wrong no matter the justifications. You may be facing a choppy water in the ship you are travelling in like Jonah if you have do something wrong. To sail smoothly make sure your records are clear before God and man…Jeremiah 5:25, 1st john 1: 8-9
- Know that it is cheap to want to be accepted for the wrong reasons. People accept less of their worth and cut down on their personal dignity just to be accepted even by those you know are spiteful of you…negotiate like Jephthah on terms that are favourable to you and not based on the whims of other people. Judges 12.
- Don’t feel bitter or seek for revenge. The sign of victory is peace and a clear conscience. God is the one who can magnify your worth and significance in the eyes of others. A wholesome self-esteem is always ready to forgive….john 14: 27….Luke 6:28
