WHY THEN SHOULD I GET MARRIED? -Pains and bliss of marriage.
I have heard a good number of people say that marriage is a curse. Not quite because they have a certain specialty knowledge on the matter. Such people most likely could be speaking from mere ‘experiential taste’ of marriage and probably have had a painful brush from the wrong side.
I recall with emotional recoil death of a very friendly colleague in the sosoliso plane crash in Nigeria which happened around 2005. And two of my other colleagues had died at different times in other plane crashes.
At those times I was an active IT support engineer in one of the banks that had me virtually flying every other week. I had been on planes that were air-borne challenged. I got off knocking my knees in dread. Quite unnerving!
The spate of plane crashes within that time roused in me a rather queasy feelings and disaffection about flying, a momentary negative crush on it’ scary reality yet couldn’t totally take away the gains and its power as an existential necessity. Since then I have flown more times than my feelings of ‘death’ foreboding could afford me.
Marriage is the greatest union I have known aside that of Christ and man. Men of mean dispositions who embarked on this journey would look back to see how wives they married became the supernatural magnet of their success and upliftment in life.
The two; husband and wife become formidable partners in progress. Love and feelings of being loved is a source of buoyant energy to the soul. It feeds the mental and psychic components of our being. We flourish like green in the savannah. (Deuteronomy 32:30, Ephesians 5:25).
Marriage is that harmless dynamite that explodes one’ destiny and mass up your potentials to the endless realm of the earth.
Marriage with a right partner can make one walk with pride and feelings of accomplishment. The wonderful chemistry of a man meeting a woman and both in spite of their differences forge a union that dares Satan in the face, and they become model of cooperative success. A salt and inspiration in their community and the base block of national pride.
You beget offspring’s that look like you, soon you are grooming them to take on your values and carry on from where you left off, the joy of seeing your children make good progress is one of the irrepressible joy of mortal blessings.
Hand in hand you grow old… looking back at fond memories how you came through and, in the end, you pass away feeling accomplished and fulfilled… a journey too hard or impossible going it alone.
This is the priceless treasure of a union in marriage.
Those who say marriage is not worth it hadn’t known it. They may have overheard others tell out their woes and felt quirky and at odds with it.
Satan is also responsible for making people feel bad about marriage. Some hold the view that women are evil. Some women belief that men are cheats and can never be trusted.
Won’t be hard to believe that there could be many who are loathing marriage because of what they might have seen or heard from other people’s experiences.
Even if you were in a bad, difficult, testy marriage, the kernel of the principle and doctrine of marriage as a powerful and glorious union is unfazed.
Are you travelling in that carriage of thought that marriage is not a good thing? Bust it! Don’t be fooled into staying away from marriage and so plan to stay single.
God made marriage and His purpose was to make us complete, a cherished relationship that mirrors the nature of His love.
The pains we may feel about encounters in marriage or with marriage could be like the spikes on the stalk of the scented colourful rose. It may prick the fingers but cannot spoil the beauty and charm of its essence.
When you find the right person, the door of endless bliss is swung open. Your job with the help of God is ensure you find the right woman or man.
Never mind my little phobia about flying, am already planning my next flying trip after the lockdown, so should you, should any suitor that ticks the right boxes shows up at your door, ignore the ‘allergy warnings’, hop on.
I look forward to your great stories in the future. Everything God made is good, including marriage (James 1:17-19)
stay blessed.
