Around 1995/6 as a university undergraduate, I embarked on a trip to Enugu to formally invite a big man of God to a Christian event at my university. Bishop Augustine Nwodika of the ‘healing has just begun’ fame had become the magnet of so many crusade events in the east.
I happened to be leading the Christian body, the joint Christian campus fellowship (JCCF), the umbrella body of the Christian fellowships at FUTO and I was virtually on the road every weekend. I had a whistle stop at Aba to see my mum who lived in Aba. Aba was my cradle city outside Akwa and Umuahia.
She insisted I lay over for a night. And on that night I had a terrible dream. A dream of death, and I was the one who died in that dream. In that dream I was involved in a car crash and my head was split in two… blood everywhere…The horrible dream jolted my slack consciousness to panic life and I was roused from sleep. When I got off the bed I prayed.
And I got dressed for my Enugu journey.
When I got to my mum’s place…she insisted I should not make that trip. Why? I quipped. She said out her own dream and it was exactly as mine. She said she saw me in a dream and my head was split in two and blood was everywhere….when the car I was in collided with a truck.
She was crying and begging me…I told her I had the same dream but I have ‘Cancelled it in the spirit’.
She called other people to plead with me but I insisted I had to make the trip and I made it and everything went well and I returned safe.
When God’s spirit is not saying otherwise with our journey plans you have no need to fear or change your plans because you feel insecure or intimidated by feelings of fear. Even when a powerful person had threatened you with death….death can never and will not be your portion. That should not make your knees to start rattling out of dread!
Because our covenant with Christ has power over death and Jesus also defeated death so that we should not become captives and servants to it.
Are you in the company of those that don’t travel to the village because you are scared you might die? Na lie! Satan no fit kill you! We overcame him by the blood of the lamb…Rev 21:11
The presence of God in you and your spiritual authority in Christ is enough wahala for Satan…Ephesians 2: 1-20
This year a man went to put juju where I was building. They had gone to tell the man that the owner of the property will kill him with prayer. He ran to site the following morning and was pleading and took away the juju…The story made me giggle. I did not speak to him..they only told him…lol!
That’s how it’s should be …When Satan and death act in accordance to the dictates of our faith and spiritual enforcements. ..Luke 10: 17, Mark 16: 18.
